Acute Respiratory Tract Infection

ARI stands for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection, the term is adapted from the English term Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). Acute infectious disease that attacks and one or more parts of the respiratory tract from the nose (top line) to the alveoli (bottom line), including networks such as adneksanya sinus, middle ear cavity and pleura. Respiratory disease is a disease that often occurs in children, because the child's body's defense system is still low. Genesis psenyakit cold cough in infants in Indonesia is estimated 3 to 6 times per year, which means an average toddler attack a cold coughing as much as 3 to 6 times a year. ISPA term includes three elements namely infections, and acute respiratory tract, where the following understanding:

1. Infection

Is the entry of germs or microorganisms into the human body and multiply, causing symptoms of disease.
2. Respiratory

Is the organ from the nose to the alveoli and adneksanya organs such as the sinuses, middle ear cavity and

    pleura.
3. Acute Infection

Infection is a direct up to 14 days. 14-day limit was taken to indicate an acute process, although for some

diseases that can be classified in the ARI process can last more than 14 days.
ARI is anatomically include upper respiratory tract, lower respiratory tract (including lung tissue - the lung) and respiratory organs adneksa. with these restrictions, including lung tissue in the respiratory tract (respiratory tract). The majority of respiratory infections such as only mild coughs and colds do not require treatment with antibiotics, however, the child will suffer if pneumoni lung infection is not treated with antibiotics could lead to death. Disease Eradication Program (P2) ARI disease divided into 2 groups, namely:
* Non-pneumonia ARI: known to the public with a cold coughs term
* Pneumonia: a cold accompanied by coughing when other symptoms such as difficulty breathing, increasing

the frequency of breathing (rapid breathing).
Respiratory tract from nose to bronkhus covered by mucous membrane bersilia, air enters through the nasal cavity is filtered, warmed and dilembabkan. Coarse dust particles can be filtered by the hair found in the nose, while fine dust particles will be trapped in the mucosal layer. Cilia movement to encourage the mucosal layer of the nasal cavity posterior and superior direction toward the pharynx.
In general, the effects of air pollution can cause respiratory nasal cilia movement became slow and rigid even be stopped so as not to be cleaned due to respiratory irritation by pollutants. Mucus production increases so will cause constriction of the airways and destruction of bacteria killer cells in the respiratory tract. As a result of this will cause difficulty in breathing that attracted foreign objects and other bacteria can not be expelled from the respiratory tract, this would facilitate the occurrence of respiratory tract infections.
According to WHO, the secretion of mucus or cold symptoms occur also in diseases caused by common cold virus infection group or type of rhinovirus and coronavirus. This disease can be accompanied by fever in children for several hours to three days. As for air pollution expected to trigger viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. Respiratory infection can be transmitted through saliva, blood, sneezing, breathing air that contains bacteria that healthy people inhaled by breathing kesaluran.
